Eligible Voter Turnout

Measurement Period: 2024
The percentage of eligible citizens (≥18 years of age) registered and casting votes indicates citizens invested in our community and understanding the value in working to make it even better. However, the fact remains that less than half the population eligible to vote, typically votes.

Why is this important?

It doesn’t take countless votes to be elected and these officials represent their voters, even if a greater proportion of citizens didn’t vote. As electoral politics becomes a greater proportion of the economy, grassroots dedication and interest in voting, the very foundation of democracy, could be in compromised in future elections.
