Why is this important?

Population projections are used by planners, developers and employers to project how the population might change given demographic and economic factors, as well as to assess the ongoing effects of growth and its cumulative impacts. Population projects by the Nevada State Demographer are also used as the control populations for age, sex, race and Hispanic origin projections for health statistics.
