Trash & Invasive Plants Removed from Truckee River Corridor

This indicator shows the number of pounds of trash and invasive plant waste removed from the Truckee River corridor during cleanups through Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful programs, and the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe. 

Why is this important?

Cleanup and beautification projects organized by Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful and the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe span from Verdi to Lockwood, as well as the wider community impacting the river corridor. Projects include storm-drain stenciling, litter pickup, graffiti removal, in-the-river trash and green waste removal (by kayakers and flyfishers), weed pulling, and park/neighborhood beautification projects.
