Adults Participating in Truckee River Education Programs

Measurement Period: 2024
This indicator identifies the number of adults in northern Nevada who participated in Truckee River education programming offered by Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful, including the river ecosystem, human impacts to the river, and the river as a local water resource.

Why is this important?

Environmental education provides important opportunities for people to become engaged in real world issues that transcend their common environment. Through education, people can see the relevance to the complex environmental issues confronting our planet and can acquire the skills they’ll need to be creative problem solvers and powerful advocates.

As local Nevadans learn about the Truckee River they become more invested in protecting it as well.  The Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful education programs help people become environmental scientists by working to understand the health of the Truckee River watershed.  Learn more at www.ktmb.org.
