Violent Crime Rate Per 100,000 population

State: Nevada
Measurement Period: 2023
Total violent crime offenses (murder, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault offenses) per 100,000 population.

Why is this important?

The Crime Index offenses reported in the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program are the most commonly used measure of crime and represent a consistent sample that allows for population comparisons.  Crime in which the offender uses or threatens to use violent force upon the victim are classified as Part 1, violent crimes including murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault.  Violence negatively impacts communities by reducing productivity, decreasing property values, and disrupting social services.
