Air Quality Index: Number of Unhealthy Days

Measurement Period: 2022
The Air Quality Index (AQI) is an index established by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for reporting daily air quality. It informs the public about how clean or polluted the air is and highlights potential associated health effects.

Days with an AQI below 151-200 is considered Unhealthy.

NOTE: Since 2011 Washoe County has not experienced a "Hazardous" day.

Why is this important?

The AQI is important because it provides essential information to the public about air quality, enabling people to understand the level of pollution and its potential health impacts.
